so I was browsing thru PRweb news articles and this one really stood out. I was like huh?? whaaa? awesome!
Ever out at a pub and notice the premier of china stroll in for a Guinness? well now you can tell the world! immediately! Huzzah!
News from Silicon Valley, SachManya LLC publisher of 360Newslive.com and 360ne.ws citizen journalism websites announced today immediate and free access to their first Iphone app called 360 News. this new app allows citizens like you and me report up to the minute news as it happens directly from their Iphones. wow!
It tracks GPS coordinates, Date and time is inserted automatically, and photo and videos can be uploaded right on the spot. the 360 distribution service takes it from there and submits it to Twitter®, Facebook®, Youtube®, CNN iReport®, Yahoo/Reuters You Witness News®, MSNBC and more. all without joe journalist lifting a finger!
If you are searching news the app also delivers location based news targeted for your location again using the internal GPS location of your phone. you can bets this app is pretty robust since the parent company of 360news SachManya LLC develops and markets mobile applications and is based in Silicon Valley. You remember silicon valley? thats where all the computers come from before the bubble burst.
Well at any rate the tag for the app is the following : “360News is all about mobilizing the user-generated news creation and sharing it with the rest of the world in the fastest and easiest manner”
in other news,
taking back seat to the crazy town that was the buzz of the google nexus one phone it looks like the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 is headed to Tmobile now. There was a report that the users manual for said Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 was leaked “accidentally” by the FCC… oh you FCC you loony bunch you! on an short article on Boy Genius report they state to look at page three where you can see the 3G bands that will be used on the phone. those bands…. drum roll… are known far and wide as T-Mobile AWS 3G bands! so ther you have it. unless something changes.. Tmobile the big T , Mr T phone will be getting the EPERIA X10. yay!
Everyone knows, or maybe they don’t that I was a HUGE Blackberry fanboy for many year before the Iphone a came and stole my inner circuitry of a heart. that said I still look fondly at RIM and keep up with my first love… you never forget your first love. Speaking of Love Research in Motion executive board must be loving the fact that they sold 10 Million blackberries in Q3 breaking their previous record the quarter before. 80% of threes new phones were to non corporate entities. what does this mean? for you and me it means that RIM is starting to win over the consumer and prosumer markets which are still dominated by the Iphone and its ilk. to put all these numbers in perspective. Iphone sold 7.4 Million phones this last quarter so its a close race but RIM beat Apple by 2.6 Million phones and that is really not a small number.
Its a good end to a good year for Cellphones at any rate.
Part 2 of ” so you really wanna be a podcaster” will dive into the next steps… so you got a name and a URL, you picked a topic you love, and now where do you go? PArt 2 will go into hosting your site… where and how and is it free, all of that and more in episode 47 Of Geek tech live
