iPad and I are BFFs! yay!

Ok, so four of us went to lunch today. The three of us were tagging along to play at the apple store while the fourth was getting an iPad case. Well the first to fall was Mike, his birthday is next month and he is already a Mac guy so it was really not too big a surprise. My birthday is in 13 days and as Mike was finishing up his purchase the lady asked me if I had any questions. I looked at her and said “umm… Ok set me up like Mike”
And the rest is history.
So my take of the iPad in the last 3 hours? Here it goes:
Its actually pretty cool. It definitely is a niche machine. I have tried out plants vs zombies HD which is formatted to the iPad as well as marvel comics. Both are amazing. The non iPad formatted apps are definitely lacking in resolution if you ask me. My Twitter app twitterlator pro has not been formatted for iPad and so definitely looks either small or grainy if I press the 2x button.

Setup was easy. I plugged in my iPhone and made a backup and then turned on and plugged in the iPad. After choosing to register the iPad I was asked if I wanted to restore my apps from my last iPhone backup. I did that to see what my iPhone apps would look like. Frankly, most iPhone apps just don’t have the resolution to pull off the 2x button if you ask me and look like crap. Let’s hope that apps like Facebook, mashable and Twitter apps like twitterlator pro get updates soon.
The iBook reader is very easy to use and prices seem ok for digital book content. The “hitchhikers guide to the galaxy” isn’t available yet but I won’t hold it against them.
After messing around with netflix (which by the way rocks!) and all the other apps I mentioned I a, still at 83% battery. I am even typing this using the wordpress app that HAS been updated for the iPad.

So, my take so far… Fun, useful for what I want to do and very speedy. 4 out of 5 for me right now. I will blog more about this after i get more air time in on the device and i will let you know.

See you all soon!
