Wikitude Drive GPS AR for android
Wikitude Drive made by Mobilizy is the first Augmented Reality GPS application and its only found on the Android Phone. Minimum OS version is 1.6 but as you will find out in my next topic that should not be an issue for very long, especially if you have a Nexus ONE. The very cool thing about this application is that it is AR driven so you see a live view of the road ahead and it overlays the route you need to take to get to your destination. It is currently only in beta but they are looking for test drivers so if you rock an Android phone and you want to take part in the Beta test head on over to Wikitude.org . You can tell them Chris sent you but they dont even know who I am so don’t bother. 😉 This is a very cool Application for Android devices. Minority report computers are just a hop skip and a jump from this point. I hope that Jobs is listening. if the Iphone HD doesn’t have this ability then Android is definitively winning in the awesome category.
Here is a YouTube Video of the AR GPS in action. pretty awesome eh?

Ecto 1 License Plates? sign me up!
I have said this before and I will say it again. I am a huge Ghostbusters Fan. Not GB 2 but the original. I think most of my childhood was watching and re-watching that movie on VHS. I absolutely love everything about it. Granted the soundtrack is a bit dated now but the story is just as good on Day 1002 as it was on day 1. But I digress, I was skipping through my RSS reader and came across a Thinkgeek posting. Lo and behold! ThinkGeek has a Ghostbusters Ecto-1 replica License Plate up for grabs! Me want very bad. Its sutable for framing or putting in your back window of your car. It is not a legit plate so dont even think of going out and putting it on your car. you will be pulled over by the police and then I will have to say ” I told you so”. So dont do it even if you think your last name looks Ghostbuster-ish.
Head on Over to Thinkgeek.com to buy your very own License plate before they are sold out. and by sold out I mean me buying them all for myself.
