Some Iphone 4 info for you and Ios rundown
Yes yes yes Virginia, there is a Mr Jobs and he makes Iphones every year. This year is no different as the new Iphone 4.0 and the new Iphone Operating system now dubbed iOS is being released as well. I wonder what Cisco is thinking or how much money they made when this was announced as Most of you probably know, Cisco’s proprietary operating system for the switches and routers and hubs ( Oh My!) that the interwebs and most companies run on is (or was) called Cisco IOS. I Am still looking for that info on the cost of the ownership of those three little letters.
But on to more interesting things. the New Iphone has all the bells and whistles you and I have come to expect and since we already saw it when it was leaked its somewhat a snoozer there. the devil is in the details that we now can confirm though and here they are:
- The Iphone is 24% thinner than the 3GS
- Resolution is an eye watering 960 x 640 display dubbed the “Retina display”
- A4 processor similar to the Ipad
- Claimed 300 hours of standby time, 40 hours of Audio and 10 hours of video
- two cameras, one front facing and one normal. standard one is 5MP and capable of shooting 720p video!
- A three axis Gyroscope so its got almost wii like motion control possibilities built in.
Ios addins make it even more interesting with the addition of Multitasking, ibook, Unified inbox, custom folders, bluetooth keyboard support, background audio like pandora, tap to focus for video and camera shots, fast app switching, and a host of others.
Ok, so how are you gonna get your grubby little paws on one of these? Here is the breakdown. For new service its $199 for 16GB or $299 for the 32GB model with a 2 year contract. no contract pricing will set you back $599 for 16GB or $699 for 32GB. AT&T is allowing any Iphone customers who were going to be coming due in 2010 so upgrade at the new service pricing. which is cool, but if you want to confirm that you are eligible you will want to dial *639# into your current AT&T phone and in a few seconds you will get a reply txt message either confirming you are in the running or if you have to shell out the early upgrade pricing. you can also check on your AT&T account page from the AT&T website.
Google TV and L4 systems plan for TV application awesomeness
This is pretty cool, It was announced today that L4 Systems, a Seattle area software company, will release L4 Connected TV this fall on the new Google TV platform and on TVs enabled by Yahoo! L4 Systems plans to simultaneously release L4 Connected TV and L4 Connected TV for Mobile to TV and Smartphone application stores this fall.
