Matrox Triplehead2go Goodness

I have had the opportunity to test out and set up a Matrox Triplehead2go unit  and let me tell you it rocks the ever loving Eye Holes of Triple Monitor Goodness! If you are wondering what all the hub bub is about check out this picture on a possible configuration for the Triple Head 2 go:

So, it obviously has some merit for Gaming, But how about work related stuff? Larger Monitors give you more screen real estate and a very large monitor of 30″ woudl be great but could be costly and might still not get you the size you need or want. Thats where Matrox comes in. You can take 3 Monitors with the Triple and 2 with the double (duh) and create your very own JumboTron of sorts for usually a little less than one big monitor. I was able to hook together three 22″ monitors with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 for a jaw dropping 5760 x 1080 Massive monitor!

The specs on the TripleHead2Go are quite impressive :

  • Supports a maximum resolution of 5760×1080 (3x 1920×1080)1, 2 across three monitors; displays attached to TripleHead2Go must run at the same resolution
  • Works with LCDs, CRTs and projectors3
  • Uses your system’s existing GPU to deliver a stable platform for office, 3D design, and multimedia applications
  • Experience Surround Gaming by expanding supported 3D games across three monitors; achieve a much wider in-game field of view
  • Matrox Bezel Management compensates for monitor bezel gaps to bring realism to gaming and digital signage
  • Quick and easy to install; there’s no need to open the computer case or insert components
  • Spans taskbar across monitors for easy access to all your open applications
  • Matrox Clone to view a copy of one display on the other displays (available on TripleHead2Go DP Edition only)
  • Includes Matrox PowerDesk software to easily manage your desktop configuration
  • External device that won’t void your system warranty
  • Expand your desktop further and connect a second TripleHead2Go to your graphics hardware to support up to six monitors at a time4
  • PC and Mac compatible
