HP TouchSmart 610 reclining PC

Touch screen computers can be awkward to use. pressing on a vertical surface is not always easy to do especially if the machine is meant for home use. In comes the HP TouchSmart 610 reclining PC.

The computer features a 23-inch 1080p HD display and multitouch technology. However, since as I said above that touching or tapping a screen that’s upright can be awkward the screen features a recline that can dip to a 60-degree angle. I wonder how well it works with [amazon_link id=”B002I0HKIU” target=”_blank” ]World of Warcraft[/amazon_link]?

Either Way, have we now seen a change in technology that could make home touchscreen computers more prevalent? will this new TouchSmart 610 eliminate mouse and keyboards? We ill have to wait and see.

Moved Podcast to new Room

I have now finished the migration of the Podcast from a larger open room to a more practical room with a door. As you can see from Episode 111 I also have started to do a Video show in conjunction with the Audio Podcast aptly named Geek Tech Live TV.  It will be found on the same site as GeekTechLive.com for now and probably will not move from there.

I hope you all like the video show and the set I designed. It doubles as my home office but it is jam packed with all my Geeky and Nerdy items I have picked up over the years. The Technology I am using to record is still changing but as of this writing I am trying to use my Canon 7D as the video camera, and doing all the editing in Final Cut Express.  I upgraded my microphone from a MXL 990 to a Heil PR40 just like The Grand and Illustrious Leo Laporte uses.  I record Audio and Video Separately and sync them up in Final Cut after the fact.  So far things are working out.

Sonic Screwdriver Candles

I have officially thrown my Geek Hat into the ring and attempted to create some Sonic Screwdriver taper candles. Useful for those romantic Gallifreyan dinners with your two hearted significant others. Also useful to stay warm when some psychic pollen gets into the TARDIS  allows it to be pulled toward a Cold burning star!
So, What do you think of my first attempts? Would you like a pair of your own?

Update: I am continuing to refine the process. as you can see from the picture the shapes are Screwdriver-ish but still are not perfect.  I am playing with wax temp, speed of pour, and a bunch of other factors.  More updates soon!
