TweetDeck for Android? oh yes!

There are a lot of Twitter applications out there. Even Twitter has a twitter app. and I am a big proponent of getting the app from the source since they sometimes will have something they don’t release inthe API.  I have used a bunch of Twitter apps and I do have to say TweetDeck has the most features. Sadly if you were rockin the Droid you were left out of the geek hug that was TweetDeck…. that is until now! Oh yes TweetDeck is soon to be released. one small thing. the app will not be able to be run in the background? Tweetdeck states that is to conserve battery life of the droid.

Got $190k Lying around? Grab yourself a Solid Gold Ipad. Eh, What?

In this still slightly depressed Economy it really pains me to see these type of oppulent over the top modifications or Gadgets or what not. I will be the first to say the ” you get what you pay for” but seriously?  it has 53 Flawless diamonds embedded in the apple logo and the case was made not of aluminum but 22 carat Solid freaking Gold! If i see Donald Trump sporting this on any media images I will puke. I like my Ipad. I really do. this type of “upgrade” does nothing for the functionality of the actual device. It doesnt make it go faster, or give it longer battery life. It does however make it weigh three times as much and fetch a crazy mind numbing $190,000. If you ask me $599.00 was more than expensive enought for my 32GB Ipad. $190k? no way. I guess the  only good thing I can think of about this “upgrade” is that if the economy does collapse you will have $190,000 worth of Gold you can use to buy a chartered jet to Canada.

What is 180? A frigging Cool Game! that’s What!

A Facebook Friend of Mine Ron Alpert Co-Founder of Headcase Games has a New App out for the Iphone. Its called 180 and its effin fun! There is also a dedicated website Called Whatis180 to learn more. Here is some background for you on the app.

Geek Tech Live 68 exclusive breaking news. So, This is the Iphone 4G?

Breaking news on Geek Tech Live Number 68; is this the IPhone 4G in the wild?

Engadget has some Exclusive breaking news on the new IPhone 4G, HD, version 4. It seems according to them:

Apparently the phone was found on the floor of a San Jose bar inside of an iPhone 3G case.

Odd right? It gets weirder.

Right now we don’t have a ton of info on the device in question, but we can tell you that it apparently has a front facing camera (!), 80GB of storage (weird, right?), and isn’t booting at this point (though it was previously, and running an OS that was decidedly new). It’s not clear if this is definitely a production model, or just a prototype that found its way into the world, but it’s certainly a compelling design, no matter how you look at it.

and to top it all off? this is the latest update from Engadget!

this looks almost exactly like a Twitpic posted by TUDream on February 20th, It’s low-res, shows an indiscriminate bit of the inside, and some mysterious button / possible SIM slot in the middle of the other side. The mic holes on this pic seems to be larger, too.

I think crazy town just let out… what do you think?

Cali Lewis Reviews the IPad on Geekbrief.tv

Cali is the reason I started my Podcast and why I chose Mevio to host the podcast for me. Her show hit the Internet over 740+ episodes ago and she was almost an overnight sensation. Interestingly enough she is still garnering some huge audiences and still can captivate listeners. Geekbrief.tv is the very model of how a show should be produced if you ask me.  She can be found on Twitter at Http://twitter.com/calielewis so you can  follow all her updates. Thanks Cali , for all the great content!

iPad and I are BFFs! yay!

Ok, so four of us went to lunch today. The three of us were tagging along to play at the apple store while the fourth was getting an iPad case. Well the first to fall was Mike, his birthday is next month and he is already a Mac guy so it was really not too big a surprise. My birthday is in 13 days and as Mike was finishing up his purchase the lady asked me if I had any questions. I looked at her and said “umm… Ok set me up like Mike”
And the rest is history.
So my take of the iPad in the last 3 hours? Here it goes:
Its actually pretty cool. It definitely is a niche machine. I have tried out plants vs zombies HD which is formatted to the iPad as well as marvel comics. Both are amazing. The non iPad formatted apps are definitely lacking in resolution if you ask me. My Twitter app twitterlator pro has not been formatted for iPad and so definitely looks either small or grainy if I press the 2x button.

Setup was easy. I plugged in my iPhone and made a backup and then turned on and plugged in the iPad. After choosing to register the iPad I was asked if I wanted to restore my apps from my last iPhone backup. I did that to see what my iPhone apps would look like. Frankly, most iPhone apps just don’t have the resolution to pull off the 2x button if you ask me and look like crap. Let’s hope that apps like Facebook, mashable and Twitter apps like twitterlator pro get updates soon.
The iBook reader is very easy to use and prices seem ok for digital book content. The “hitchhikers guide to the galaxy” isn’t available yet but I won’t hold it against them.
After messing around with netflix (which by the way rocks!) and all the other apps I mentioned I a, still at 83% battery. I am even typing this using the wordpress app that HAS been updated for the iPad.

So, my take so far… Fun, useful for what I want to do and very speedy. 4 out of 5 for me right now. I will blog more about this after i get more air time in on the device and i will let you know.

See you all soon!

Chris
